So since starting my newsletter or Substack I have discovered loads about myself, my technology prowess (pretty non existent) and other musings too.
What I have most recently discovered from asking Substack AI for help, (give it a go you can have a lovely chat, I honestly thought it was a real person until I asked the question are you a real person or AI and the bot didn’t know how to respond…….. I digress… ) what I actually discovered is that you can change the name of your substack, tick, but you cannot change the name of the ‘subdomain’ so that means every time I send a newsletter it has the old ‘Just Hygge’ subdomain hanging on.
To be clear, I love and advocate a Hygge lifestyle, attitude and all things generally Hyggy but I don’t want to feel the constrains of writing about that all the time or making my words just that extra bit tenuous to fit it. So my new friendly AI friend recommended I start a new subdomain and I agree. S/he it said it would be easy to do and that they would support me every step of the way.Hurrah we have so much in common already. The only downside is once I have deleted this subdomain it will be gone… forever! eek
So the next step is to create a new Substack domain and then transfer everything over. My posts and images will hopefully be transferred and everything should look the same. The only difference is that everything will come from this new subdomain. Sounds easy right? Unfortunately time has told me that tech stuff and me are not best friends so we’ll see what happens. However with a positive mental attitude adopted I feel confident in my abilities.
Over to you………. I believe I can transfer email addresses over too. If you are OK with that and still want to be part of this small gathering then you don’t have to do anything. If you want to say “sayonara” then just leave a comment or I presume simply unsubscribe.
Hopefully the next time you receive some of my tales to tell, all will be done and all will be well. I need a bit of luck too for this all to work. I feel better about this already as I want to have a professional presence no matter how small.
See you in a week - a self imposed deadline.
